i came across a crumpled piece of origami on the sidewalk today. it reminded me of an assignment i had in fifth grade once. we had to learn how to do something and then teach the class. i decided to learn how to make a jumping frog out of paper. you folded up the paper, like origami, and if you pushed on the end it was supposed to jump. most of the class got it from what i remember. there's always a few dummies out there who fuck up, but overall i think it was a success.
another kid taught us how to tie a tie.....like on a business suit. i don't remember how to do it anymore but every time i try i think back to the fifth grade. i wonder if he still knows how or if he even needs to.
someone else taught us how to make a stuffed snow man out of a sock. i think that was my favorite. mostly because it was something larger than a tea cup i could acutally take home and stare at until i got sick of it or "too old" to care anymore.
i wish i could be 10 again.

yeah 10 is the best. i think about being 10 a lot. my favorite. wish i had realized it then.
damn jenna why didnt you ever show me the snowman sock thing while we lived together??? i remember teaching origami to my class once in middle school too. i think we should've been friends back then, folding paper together...
2 days..
i always wish i was 12 for some reason. it's like on the verge of puberty where you're expected to be responsible, and your parents actually listen, but you don't have to deal with too much of the adolescent bullshit.
i dunno. 10 was also fine.
on friday we should all pack into somebody's car and get food in kc...and i guess maybe pick you up too. wouldn't it be funny if you were stuck at 10th and main all weekend? wouldn't that be FUNNY!?!
anyway, see you soon.
oh yeah i read ALL of it. i didn't wait to read the miyami letter until i got to miami. i read it when i departed north carolina. woops. it made me all sentimental too, and that's when i wrote you your letter on the plane. the first half of the trip i wrote to sally and the second i wrote to you.
i loved loved loved the comics. it inspired me to draw you some too. i'm going to hang up your comics on my wall as soon as i get the wall painted and this room customized ilenia style.
